PhD project description A. Acker-Palmer lab

My lab has been working for more than a decade on the molecular and functional parallelism between nervous and vascular development and plasticity. Our studies have ranged from using biochemical and cell biological methods to elucidate the molecular interactions and signaling cascades important for cellular behavior and intercellular communication to studying complex in vivo processes in whole organisms from mutant animals (mouse and zebrafish) as well as in a series of ex vivo and in vitro assays that allow us to manipulate the biological system in simplified manner.

The PhD project will consist on exploring the effects of vascular damage in the central nervous system using state-of-the-art imaging tools, scRNAseq and mouse genetic manipulation using cre-lox system.
